1991 Ford Explorer Stereo Wiring Information

Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Light Green/Yellow
Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow/Black
Radio Ground Wire: Red or Black
Radio Illumination Wire: Orange/Black
Stereo Dimmer Wire: Light Blue/Red
Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: Blue
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Orange/Light Green
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue/White
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Light Green
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Pink/Light Green
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Pink/Light Green
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Tan/Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Orange/Red
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Black/White

    I have a 91 Explorer that I’m trying to install a factory Ford radio from an 89 F150. My Explorer is just as you have above, but I have a red and a black wire. The red one is heavier and seems to be the ground. I have no idea what the black one is for. I’d love to hear any ideas.
