Hello
I followed the instructions above to replace my speakers.
Everything was fine until I got to the rear speakers of my Jeep Liberty.
My wires were brown/black and brown/purple… on both sides.
this gor me wondering how would I Know which one is which after.
I might have to review the way I plugged it.
I listen to the speakers and tested the connection in both directions.
Then I was listening to sound quality.
and did the connection that matched the sound like the front speakers.
What do you think?
Found on another website the correct wiring for the rear speakers with the brown/black and brown/purple. However, they refer to it as tan, and it is at the very bottom of the page in a reply to the original comment (output to rear speakers):

I had the tan/black and tan/purple (violet) combo in both of my rear speakers. The easiest way to remember for this specific application was “purple positive.” If nothing else, no more guesswork!

There are 2 pink wires in my jeep, are they both 12 volt constant?
