  1. Speaking from A LOT of experience with my 1997 Chevy K1500 ‘Cheyenne’ (that was the trim model anyway lol) ext cab, 5.0L and other resources as well I can say that the front speakers are technically 6 3/4″ but 6 1/2″ will work and most brands and models have extra tabs on the outermost part of the speaker frame that make it a direct fit for 6 3/4″ cutouts so 6 1/2’s in the front doors (some models may have a factory component setup in the front that has a separate tweeter underneath a trim colored mesh towards the front of the power doors/window switch assembly) and the rears on the extended cab trucks are a 4″x6″ on the ‘B’ pillars that are a pain the a$$ to access and will likely result in some broken trim tabs. A trim removal tool helps this immensely! For those removing the front door panels to replace anything and have manually operated windows might run into the ‘how do I get the darn window crank off?’ question, there is a special tool for this but a good trick/shortcut is to use a cloth shop rag or old washcloth to slip behind the crank and sang one end of the retaining clip..there’s a short video on youtube on this to demonstrate.
